I have been wanting to write about this product for such a long time, it has been sat by my bed just waiting to be used. I finally got a chance to do it and my hands are definitely thanking me for it. So here are my thoughts on it!
I first popped into Lush just to get my usual Henna block to dye my hair. As usual I ended up wandering around the shop and spending half my wage. I find it impossible to just go in Lush for one thing without having a good look around. So when I spotted this little beauty near the hand creams, I snapped it up. Its the Lush Golden Handshake, which I picked up for only £2.95. I thought that was a great price for such a good product. The Lush hand creams are great so since my hands have been really suffering this winter, I figured I may as well give it a try.
It comes on a little stick as you can see, in the shape of a little golden hand (hence the name). You use it like one of those hot chocolates on a stick, stirring it into hot water.
Place it into a bowl and cover with hot/almost boiling water. I tried it with just tap hot water and it wouldn't melt. So I recommend using the water from the kettle just before it boils, it cools down quite quickly as your melting it so you can just pop it on your hands. Stir it in just like you would with a hot chocolate stick, and wait for it to melt and then eventually thicken. I was really impressed with how quickly it melted and became very thick and creamy.
As you can see its really easily melted and looks like thick hand cream substance. Then I transferred it into a bigger bowl so that I could fit my hands in and rubbed it all over my hands and fingers. It says to cover your hands and leave it on for around 15 minutes, just like you would a hair mask. I sat watching tv and covered my hands in the creamy gloop, then washed it off. I still had some left so I popped it into a jar and I have been using it as a hand cream.
As I mentioned my hands suffer during the cold months, and with my job I'm constantly washing my hands so they dry out even more. I try to keep them moisturised with a hand cream, but sometimes I need a little more. This has avocado, argan and castor oil which is great for your skin. It is super conditioning and also helps to protect your hands from future dry skin. You could easily get 3-4 masks out of this, sharing it round your family and friends for instance. As I said I chose to save it and keep it for a hand cream beside my bed.
I really loved this product, I would definitely use it again. For the price you can't really complain that its too expensive. You can spread it out and use it more than once for sure. More than enough for 3 or 4 masks. So why not pop into a Lush store and give your hands the treat they deserve!
What do you think?
Have you used this before?
Will you be trying it?

DeleteGorgeous photos! I love Lush products so much but I only ever gravitate towards their scrubs and bath bombs - barely anything else aside from that. Great review though, I'll need to have a look at purchasing this one! x
ReplyDeleteThank you so much :) xx
DeleteThis looks great! I have quite dry at times training as a hairdresser, due to a lot of contact with water, so this sounds perfect for me!
